Für den Auftritt von STING bei "Wetten dass...?" wurde Mikel als Gitarrist von Stings Plattenfirma angerufen, um ein einmaliges Medley mit drei Superhits des Briten zu präsentieren.
"Don't stand so close to me", "Fragile" und "Set them free" verschmolzen zu einer Einheit in einer bis dahin noch nicht gespielten, neuen Version.

THE DOME gehörte zu den erfolgreichsten Shows auf RTL II und RICK ASTLEY mit sieben No.1 Hits weltweit zu den bekanntesten Popstars des Planeten.
Anfang der 2000er veröffentlichte er mit "Sleeping" einen smoothen Dance Song, zu dem Mikel bei den live TV Shows Rick begleitete.
